Parish E-File is an online tool that facilitates secure electronic filing of state
and parish/city sales and use tax returns. Taxpayers should be collecting and remitting
both state and parish/city taxes on taxable sales. Parish E-File permits the filing of
multiple parish/city returns from one centralized site.
Parish E-File is provided to you at no charge and offers an easy-to-use registration.
In addition, taxpayers are able to maintain their own identifying and demographic
www.laota.com for additional information.
This site is for sales tax purposes only. For other state taxes,
Remoter Sellers and businesses that have met the definition of remote seller (annual sales of $100,000 or more;
or 200 or more transactions per year, but do not have physical presence in Louisiana) should register with the Louisiana Commission
for Remote Sellers (Commission) to file a single return for state and local taxes. To register, visit the Commission’s website at https://remotesellers.louisiana.gov/.
A Remote Seller currently registered with the state and parishes as a regular dealer may switch to the Commission.
The Remote Seller must remit any tax collected while registered with the state and parishes directly to the state and parishes.

Due to the cyber incident coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of New Orleans is allowing taxpayers to file the following tax periods without penalty, interest or negligence fees: December 2019, January 2020, February 2020,
March 2020 and April 2020. These returns will be due on May 20, 2020. Orleans Parish is encouraging taxpayers to pay sales tax collected as soon as reasonably possible and will keep taxpayers abreast of any changes by posting updates to Parish E-File website.
Thank you for your cooperation during these difficult times.
During the week of July 12, 2021, Parish E-File will convert existing accounts to the new format. If you file your business return electronically, Parish E-File system will require the 12-digit account number for Lafourche Parish.
In this instance, you will enter 000000012345, filling in six zeros in front of the new six-digit format.
If your account number starts with 1 and has six digits, then you would enter six zeros in front of your six-digit number (Ex. 000000100001 for account #100001).
