both state and parish/city taxes on taxable sales. Parish E-File permits the filing of

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR LOUISIANA STATE SALES TAX - FEBRUARY 2020 FILING PERIOD EXTENSION
Due to the public health emergency caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the filing and payment deadline for the Louisiana state sales tax February 2020 period is extended to May 20, 2020. The original due date was March 20, 2020.
This is an automatic extension and no extension request is necessary. Taxpayers cannot utilize the Parish E-File filing system to take advantage of this filing
and payment extension relief for the Louisiana state sales tax return. State sales tax returns and payments submitted after March 20, 2020 must be submitted
via Louisiana Taxpayer Access Point (LaTAP) at https://latap.revenue.louisiana.gov/_/ or by paper filing to be granted this extension.
All electronic filing and payment mandates contained within Title 61 of the Louisiana Administrative Code relative to state sales tax are temporarily suspended.
No penalties will be assessed for a taxpayer’s failure to file a state sales tax return electronically or remit state sales tax by electronic funds transfer.

Due to the cyber incident coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of New Orleans is allowing taxpayers to file the following tax periods without penalty, interest or negligence fees:
December 2019, January 2020, February 2020 and March 2020. These returns will be due on May 20, 2020. Orleans Parish is encouraging taxpayers to pay sales tax collected as soon as reasonably possible
and will keep taxpayers abreast of any changes by posting updates to Parish E-File website. Thank you for your cooperation during these difficult times.
